Virtual Session via Google Meets

This session will focus on emotional, spiritual, and interpersonal connection. The session will begin by listening to a song that contains themes of spirituality and one’s spiritual journey. After McKenzie performs the song, she will initiate a lyric discussion based on the lyrics of the song and the overall theme. Session members will be asked to share any initial responses they noticed while listening, specific lines that stood out while listening, and answer other specific prompting questions. This will be done in the form of group discussion.

At the conclusion of the lyric discussion, McKenzie will lead members in a group songwriting initiative using the lyrics of the initial song. Powered by the original lyric discussion, session members will work together to edit the song lyrics as they collectively see fit. This can be done by adding/removing words or changing different words/phrases within the lyrics. Once lyrics have been changed to the group’s satisfaction, McKenzie will perform the re-written song for the group. The session will conclude with a group reflection.

Upon purchase of this wellness session, you will receive an email with a Google Meets link. This is what you will use to log onto this virtual session.

In ancient times, the initial harvest festivals commenced in August and were extensively celebrated across Ireland, Scotland, and the Isle of Man. This festival signifies the onset of the end of summer and the arrival of the season of letting go. We will form a drum circle to honor this first harvest, to recognize what we have gained throughout the year, to celebrate what deserves celebration, and to start addressing what needs to be released as Fall nears.

All materials will be provided including your drum and a nourishing snack. Journal prompts will be given to answer in class as well as a take-home for reflection.
